Why use O2 Barrier 2in1?

O2 Barrier 2in1 will help to create the necessary anaerobic conditions faster, and maintain them for longer, than conventional silage sheeting. This ensures a better fermentation and can help eliminate top and shoulder waste in the clamp.

Almost as soon as the clamp is sealed, during the final stages of respiration, water vapour causes the vacuum film to separate from the silage sheet. This film is sucked down onto the silage creating a tight seal. Meanwhile, the top layer affords overall protection in the conventional manner, giving excellent durability and puncture resistance.

Remember – Everywhere the sheeting is not touching the silage is an air pocket. O2 Barrier, however, is able to mould itself over the silage preventing air pockets from being formed. The sheeting should not only be a good oxygen barrier, it needs to be malleable, too, in order to follow the contours of the forage.

Time Saving Application

Applied as one sheet, O2 Barrier 2in1 is lighter and more flexible than conventional silage sheeting, and is the ONLY top sheet required – saving time, effort and manpower required to seal a clamp effectively.

Better for the Environment

With raw material savings of around 40%, lower disposal costs and a better carbon footprint than conventional silage sheeting, O2 Barrier 2in1 is kinder to the environment, too.

The Benefits of Using O2 Barrier 2in1

Why O2 Barrier is the best protective sheeting you can use on your clamp:

  • Applied as one sheet, it is easier to handle, saving time and money.
  • 6-10 times better oxygen barrier than standard sheeting.
  • Robust, yet lightweight and malleable, allowing it to mould to the contours of the silage, preventing air pockets.
  • Markedly reduces dry matter losses at the top and shoulders of the clamp – the most vulnerable parts.
  • Helps to create anaerobic conditions faster and for longer than conventional sheeting, resulting in a better fermentation and a more stable clamp.
  • Better for the environment compared with conventional silage sheeting:
    – 40% lighter which saves on raw materials and disposal.
    – Lower carbon footprint
